Scandinavia’s leading internet marketing conference draws closer

Online marketing conference and expo coming to Reykjavik

The annual Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference and expo (RIMC) has been scheduled for 20th March 2009 and will showcase a wider cross section of the industry than ever before.

RIMC is organised by two international Icelandic companies with great internet marketing, search engine optimisation and press experience: Nordic eMarketing and Arvakur.

The internet marketing conference will be held at the comfortable Reykjavik Hilton Hotel. The conference has upgraded its venue this time around in a show of confidence fuelled by the over 300 participants who took part last year and gave overwhelmingly positive online feedback.

Among the impressive list of confirmed speakers at March’s conference are Adam Lasnik from Google, Pauline Ores of IBM and Receptional’s Dixon Jones. Nike’s European Marketing Manager, Sion Portman will also speak, as will Ben Chapman from the BBC.

As one of the hosts, Nordic eMarketing’s Kristjan Mar Hauksson will participate as a moderator and Q&A answerer in several of the day’s sessions. Kristjan is a leading expert in the field of online marketing and SEO, and is an in-demand conference speaker on the international circuit.

Internet marketing conference in Iceland

Now in its second year, the Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference and Expo is only getting bigger – but with the huge breadth of renowned speakers on the schedule, it’s easy to see why.

The Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference in 2008 was attended by more than 300 internet experts, including a crop of world class speakers and workshop managers. Attendees rated the event very highly in the online evaluation.

Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference 2009 is to go ahead on the 20th March and is set to be even better than the last, with big names lined up from organisations including Google, Microsoft, IBM and Nordic eMarketing.

Google Search Evangelist Adam Lasnik is going to talk about search engines in a special session.

The Search Engines discussion will also include Mel Carson from Microsoft, Rand Fiskin, CEO of SEOmoz and Eugene Lomize from Yandex. The session will be moderated by Hjalmar Gislason from Iceland Telecom.

There are six other sessions during the day, called: Site Usability and Accessibility, Youth Marketing Online, social Marketing and Internet Technology, Online Reputation and PR, Case Studies and Success Stories and an interesting look at Websites: Do’s and Don’ts.

Dixon Jones from Receptional and Omni Marketing’s Shari Thurow will also offer a stimulating workshop session along with Anne Kennedy, one of the Managing Partners at Beyond Ink.

The Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference & Expo is the brainchild of Iceland-based international communications companies Arvakur and Nordic eMarketing.

Marketing Conference and Expo in Reykjavik 2009

The next annual Reykjavik Internet Marketing Conference and Expo has been scheduled for 20th March 2009 and has already got a great line-up of speakers from Google, Yahoo, IBM, Dmoz, Receptional and many more.

The conference will be taking place in the centre of Reykjavik, Iceland, at the Hilton Reykjavik Hotel. Guests will be able to choose from two tracks: ‘Business’ and ‘Hands-on Workshop’.

This event is organised by Arvakur and Nordic eMarketing, companies situated in Iceland, but both involved in international business mainly concerning Internet marketing, search engine optimisation, Internet consulting and press.

The upcoming conference will, amongst other things, deal with the problems of search engine positioning, Internet advertising versus traditional advertising, creating websites and their architecture. Guests will also be given advice on how to choose a digital agency for dissemination of online press releases.
