Leicester exchanges offering online platform for public debates
Debates have a larger role in promoting intellectual thinking and assisting in opinion formation on critical issues. Leicester Exchanges is such an initiative which offers an online channel of communication for the public to participate in debates with leading academics and high-profile opinion formers.
Appropriate channels of public communication are quite important for exchange of ideas. General public needs to be constructively engaged in the debates to bring qualitative changes in public life. Some high profile academicians sitting in five star conference rooms, discussing a matter for a day or two, and then back to their homes would not change anything in fact. Members of the general public have to be brought onto the online debating platform and the engagement has to be constant.
Derby Recruitment Company warns of default retirement age abolition pitfalls
Peak Workforce, a recruiter with its own mature workforce initiative, speaks out about Default Retirement Age (DRA) abolition regulations that could see local employers fall foul of the law.
Although scheduled for abolition in October 2011, new guidelines set out by the Government and ACAS could leave local employers confused and even acting unlawfully if not adhered to. Although previous guidance issued by ACAS was that the last date for retirement dismissals would be 30th September 2011, the new guidelines stipulate that employers hoping to use the DRA process before it is abolished to dismiss an employee for the purpose of retirement are still required to provide at least six months notice to any individual whose 65th birthday falls on or before the 30th September this year. The retirement can come into effect at any time before April 5th 2012.

Free sales leads for life for eco-friendly companies worldwide
Today, great interest can be seen across various industries to promote eco-friendly products and services. Though 'going green' is used as a fancy term by many, not everyone is 100% committed to this goal. Green companies face a lot of challenges in competing with other well established non-eco products and brands that flood the existing local and international markets.
One of the cheaper and most effective marketing solutions is online promotion. There are many websites on the internet which can promote eco-friendly companies and their green products or services, but they are not build and dedicated just to this cause. Most of these 'eco related' websites simply sell advertising space but offer nothing in terms of real business connections based on the environmental factor.

The search for Mumpreneur Idol 2011 is on
Being a stay at home mum is the preferred option for new mums in the UK, however, in the current economic climate it is not always a viable option. We have seen a huge surge in the number of mums starting their own home based businesses and recent surveys suggest there are thousands more that want to join this fast growing sector.
Mumpreneur UK, a leading support group for business mums, have identified that the main reasons holding mothers back from launching a business are start up costs alongside no experience in business. This causes a lack of confidence that they could actually run a business and generate an income. Because of this, new mums are opting to return to work rather than take the risk of moving their enterprising ideas forward.
