Rome Meets the World is a music festival held every summer in the green spaces of Rome’s Villa Ada. Some 50 international musicians perform while food and arts and crafts stands add flavour and colour to this multi-ethnic festival.
From African ethnic music to latin-tinged art rock, this festival will bring to Rome the sounds of the world from both emerging artists and well-known performers, like Suzanne Vega or Cesaria Evora.
Roma Incontra il Mondo (Rome Meets the World) has become a pleasant tradition in the cultural landscape of the city. Every year, the festival offers space to performers from all around the world to share their music and their culture.
The main pick would be Cesaria Evora, closely followed by Suzanne Vega and Mexican female rocker Ely Guerra, but all the performers are definitely worth a chance, and any of the concerts would be the perfect way to wrap a summer evening in Rome: with great music in the beautiful surroundings of a Roman Villa.
Ethnic music, food and handicrfts entertain the public during the summer evenings. The event features many concerts by singers and groups coming from all over the world, including Jimmy Cliff, Alex Britti, Verdena, Goran Bregovic.
Annual festival held in the Villa Ada featuring performers from around the world. This years big names include Suzanne Vega. Entrance to the festival is at the Via di Ponte Salario entrance. The Original Wailers perform at the Rome Meets the World festival at Villa Ada. Entrance costs €11.50.
