It detects fiber breaks and bend points in fiber optic cables and identifies fiber in ribbon or bundled fiber optic pigtails in installations where identifying a fiber from end to end may be troublesome or time-consuming.GAO Fiber Optics’ practical visual fault locator, model 08511, supports mechanical fusion splice optimization and is able to locate faults at a distance of up to 5km from the source. Modulation frequencies options include CM, 1Hz and 2Hz. The FC adapter is compatible with SC and ST connectors. This compact visual fault locator automatically shuts down when there’s no activity within 10 minutes; the energy-saving design allows this fault locator to work continuously for twenty-five hours on a single charge.
